The Blood Countess (Isabelle Huppert) and her maid-servant (Birgit Minichmayr) initiate a grand new dance of the vampires. We follow them on their delirious search for the red elixir of life through an eerie and beautiful Vienna. Theay are looking for the hidden history of their ancestors, and a book that could destroy their vampire empire.
Hot on their heels are: A vegetarian nephew, and family rebel (Thomas Schubert), his psychotherapist (Lars Eidinger), two vampirologists (André Jung & Marco Lorenzini), a chief inspector with his assistant (Karl Markovics with Felix Oitzinger), and many other characters who are no less eccentric.
